Week 7

Week seven of wedding planning is drawing to a close and we've made quite a bit of progress! I think both Justin and I are officially ready to just be married. Does it really matter what shade of coral goes into the arrangements or which font we choose for the invitations? The event planner and PR professional that I am says absolutely YES, but my heart says NO. I'm so thankful to have found the one that was made for me and honestly just can't wait for the next chapter to begin. I am however, loving this sweet season that we are in and cherishing every moment because I know it will fly by. At least that's what they say.

obsessed with my new wedding planner.

Engagement Photos

Well, my "feeling under the weather" turned into a 24 hour flu bug and a touch of bronchitis. My fever got as high as 102.8 on Friday afternoon, but finally broke late Friday night. We went ahead with our photos, although it seemed like all signs were pointing towards a reschedule. On top of being sick, my hair and makeup lady was a no show at 6 a.m. Saturday morning and the humidity was 90%. NINETY PERCENT. Ugh. My hair was a mess, but MZ worked her magic and I'm so glad we did the shoot. Here's our sneak peek on Melissa's blog.

Time Out

I had planned a post all about Vegas, but I'm leaving work early because I'm feeling under the weather. I hope it's just the aftermath of traveling. (Aren't airplanes are just large, flying germ incubators)? I'm not positive that's where it came from though because my boss is out today and he's never sick, so something might be going around. I'm crossing all of my fingers and toes that resting this afternoon will make me feel better because we have engagement photos in the morning and sweet baby Micah's first birthday tomorrow afternoon. I want to be able to give her lots of hugs and kisses. So, I'm taking a time out and resting. For the record, Vegas was a blast. I came home about even for the trip, so I call that a win. (Even if I did come home with some sort of cold/cough). More on Vegas later. You know I was instagraming it up! Hope you are feeling well and hope this rain holds off in the morning! Happy Friday friends.

Planning Bliss

Sunday afternoon looked like this for Justin and I. We had been to church, met my family for lunch and were going to settle in for a lazy afternoon when Justin asked, "Do you want to go up to Barnes and Noble and look at wedding magazines?" YES, please! He didn't look at wedding magazines of course. Being the world traveler that he is, he read up on honeymoon destinations. It was a blissful afternoon to say the least. Almost four weeks later and we're still over-the-moon happy.

We got my ring sized on Saturday evening (it was a full size too big) and that was pretty much torture for me. It sounds so lame. I went 29 years without an engagement ring, I took it off for 2.5 hours and it felt awful. Really awful. I didn't want to leave it, but I also didn't want to hang around the jewelry store for two hours. We went shopping and then ate at our favorite pizza cafe in Southlake Town Square before hurrying back to my ring. I felt like I was leaving a child for the first time! Like I said, lame. The end result was worth it, no more sliding around. I still catch myself staring at it. It's just beautiful and of course the significance behind it means even more. Yup, I'm still in that "pre-honeymoon" honeymoon phase. Somebody pinch me.
